1980s · Technical origins and a vision for the future

MAQUIOBRAS was founded in 1984 by Félix Ferruz, a professional with a solid career in the sector who launched the project with a clear goal: to provide reliable solutions in machinery and formwork for construction.

From an 800 m² warehouse in La Puebla de Alfindén (Zaragoza), the company began an activity based on technical knowledge, proximity and the ability to respond on site. From the beginning, the second generation joined the project, actively participating in its development and laying the foundations for its continuity.

During this initial stage, the company’s pillars were defined: specialisation, customer focus and a way of working aimed at solving real needs with effective solutions.

1990s · Growth, diversification and major projects

Continuous business growth led to the move in 1990 to 4,000 m² facilities in Villanueva de Gállego. MAQUIOBRAS expanded its production capacity and took a step forward in volume and ambition.

Participation in major projects such as Expo Seville and the Barcelona Olympic Games (1992) marked a turning point, positioning the company as a reliable supplier in highly demanding environments.

In 1993, the value proposition was expanded with the rental of construction formwork, providing greater flexibility and adaptation to client needs. By the middle of the decade, projects such as the César Augusta Shopping Centre consolidated its activity at national level.

2000s · Specialisation, brand and internationalisation

Business evolution led in 2003 to the expansion of the facilities to 10,500 m², increasing production and logistics capacity. That same year, Trading ALQUIOBRAS was created to manage the rental area independently, optimising service and differentiating business lines.

MAQUIOBRAS moved towards specialisation in formwork systems, progressively leaving machinery behind. Growing international demand drove the creation of an export department in 2006.

The launch of the website in 2008, participation in SMOPYC, with institutional recognition, and the 25th anniversary in 2009, together with projects such as Terminal 1 at Barcelona Airport, reflect the company’s evolution and technical capacity.

2010s · Innovation, system development and international reach

Participation in more than 10 international trade fairs such as BAUMA (Germany) and BATIMAT (France) strengthened the company’s international profile and its connection with sector trends.

In 2011, the launch of the Serie 80 system (S80) represented progress in the development of proprietary solutions designed to improve on-site efficiency and finishing quality.

This stage was characterised by the continuous evolution of formwork systems, process optimisation and MAQUIOBRAS’ evolution into a technical partner for demanding projects.

2020s · Special solutions and global consolidation

The last decade reflects the maturity of the company and its technical capacity to take on unique projects internationally.

Interventions such as the supply for the construction of a dome and emergency stairs for BFI Bank in Nouakchott (Mauritania, 2020), materials for the formwork of a large bridge lintel in Africa (2022), or walls and columns for a hospital in Benghazi (Libya, 2025) demonstrate a clear specialisation in tailor-made technical solutions.

The renewal of the website symbolises a new stage focused on future projection, while keeping intact the values that have defined the company since its origins.

The arrival of the third generation strengthens the continuity of the family business project, bringing a renewed vision that coexists with accumulated experience and knowledge.
